~ NWCA ~

North Westside Communities Association

Serving the communities from La Casa to Parker Cove

What is the North Westside Communities Association

The NWCA offers a number of community activities that include bingo, darts, Block Watch, and the Community Library. NWCA manages and maintains the Killiney Beach Community Hall.

Other community service groups operate from Killiney Beach Community Hall. For instance, the Parks Committee works to keep Killiney Beach Park safe, clean and enjoyable, In addition, the Road Committee monitors the roadways within the communities to insure they are well maintained.

North Westside Communities Association Projects

The members of the NWCA will be working hard this year to raise funds and find volunteers that will be needed to build a children's playground in the North Westside area.

The community Association has applied to crown land and forest of B.C. for a hectare of land. In addition, we have filled out an application to a major building supplier to help us with this project. Most importantly, we also prove to governmental bodies that our community also takes responsibility by raising some of the needed money through its membership drive. If all goes well we will soon have a beautiful playground for children two to 13 years old.

The reason that the NWCA chose the building of a children's playground is because, as a community, we have quite a number of social events for adult and seniors but nothing for our young families and our grandchildren.
Presently, the closest playgrounds are in Vernon or Kelowna.

We have a wonderful volunteer group within this community. If we can build a fire hall as we did just two years ago, we surely can build a playground with the help of all the people that live in this area. We will be looking for additional support from this community to develop the children's playground. Once more, we will be counting on community support to help make this important project a reality for our youth.

Killiney Beach Community Hall

Killiney Beach Hall is available to rent for events in this community. Recently the hall has had a flooring upgrade, and the addition of new padded chairs is appreciated by all.

The hall includes a fully equipped kitchen. Also, there is a P/A system and plenty of parking space.

To the side of the hall we now have top-quality picnic tables for outdoor activities.
